ROAD WORK:

Salt spreaders have been loaded and will be deployed at the storm’s onset to prevent icing on the 226 miles of roadway maintained by Cherry Hill. All told, some 41 plows and spreaders will be on the road for the duration of the storm to keep our roads as clear and as safe as possible.

Please take the following precautions to ease snow-removal efforts and allow our plows to operate effectively:

  • Do not park cars on the street from one hour after snow has continuously fallen, until 12 hours after snow has stopped, to allow plows to do their jobs effectively for all our residents.
  • Shovel snow to the right side of the driveway, facing the street, to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway. If you use a snow blower, please be careful to blow snow onto your lawn, and away from the street. Please do not blow snow into the street.
  • Wait until Township trucks have made at least three passes on your street before cleaning your driveway, if possible, to avoid having snow pushed back into your driveway.
  • Residents are required by municipal ordinance to remove snow from their sidewalks within 48 hours after the snow stops. In the event of deep snow, shovel around your mailbox and fire hydrants, as well.

Residents should be aware that Township trucks may plow their street several times before the snow ends. Snow that rolls off our plows may accumulate in driveway aprons. Please understand that this is unavoidable, and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to clear it. Please check in with elderly neighbors and family members who may need help clearing their sidewalks in the wake of the storm.

Please note that not all roads in Cherry Hill are maintained by the Township. County roads, such as Kresson and Springdale roads, are maintained by the Camden County Highway Department. To reach the Camden County Highway Department directly, please call (856) 566-2980.

Route 38, Route 70, Brace Road, Cuthbert Road (between Rt. 70 & Rt. 38), and Kings Highway (North of Route 70) are maintained by the NJ Department of Transportation: (856) 795-4735.

Residents with questions or concerns can contact the Department of Public Works directly by calling (856) 424-4422
