Council President Dave Fleisher E-mail

David is a longtime Cherry Hill resident. Raised in the Township and a graduate of Cherry Hill High School East, Councilman Fleisher was the youngest citizen ever elected to Council when he began his first term in 1997 at the age of 27. David and his wife Jennifer reside in the Siena neighborhood with their three children, and for years Jen has been active in the Stockton School PTA where she currently serves as President. The Councilman is a graduate of Ithaca College with a BS in Finance and now serves as a trustee of that institution. He is a financial services executive and frequent financial commentator for local and national media. David is active in our community serving as a board member of Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Southern New Jersey, a volunteer with Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League, and a former member of the State of New Jersey’s Government Records Council, which ensures transparency in government statewide.

Council Vice President Sara Lipsett E-mail

Councilwoman Lipsett has lived in Cherry Hill for more than 10 years. During this time, Sara has been engaged in public service as a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Cherry Hill Historical Commission. Her work to continually improve our community's schools includes service as an Executive Board member and President of the Horace Mann Elementary School's PTA. Today, Ms Lipsett is the Council's liaison to the Township Planning Board. As a member of Council, she is a voice for all Cherry Hill residents who seek to improve our community every day. Ms Lipsett is a Temple University alumna and holds a BA in Communications. Sara and her husband Jack reside in the Downs Farm neighborhood with their two children.

 

Councilman N. John Amato E-mail

First elected in 1983, Councilman Amato is the longest serving councilperson in the history of Cherry Hill Township. A licensed public accountant, Amato is an administrator for Rutgers University's LEAP Academy, a magnet school serving the City of Camden, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Rutgers and holds a Master's degree from Kean College. John is active in the Sons of Italy and is former Board President of the Camden County Vocational Schools. He is a Eucharistic minister and lector at the Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Church and also serves on the board of the YALE (Young Adolescent Learning Environment) School for children with special needs. Mr Amato and his wife, Marion, have two daughters, Rosemary and Irena, and two grandchildren, Michael and Francesca. Every December, John plays Santa Claus for a number of charitable organizations and at Cherry Hill Mall. Councilman Amato has lived in Cherry Hill's Erlton neighborhood since 1963.

Councilman Jim Bannar E-mail

Jim resides in the Erlton South section of Cherry Hill with his wife, Susan, and their two children, Jim and Alexander. A graduate of Cherry Hill High School West, Jim attended Camden County College, where he studied fire science.
Jim has been involved with fire service for more than 30 years, and has worked as a professional firefighter for 23 years. Jim serves as the Cherry Hill Fire Department’s Public Education Officer, and is a certified Fire, Arson and Explosion investigator and Certified Fire Inspector. Jim will serve as the Council liaison on all public safety matters. He is spearheading an effort to revitalize Cherry Hill’s neighborhood watch and civic groups. A 43-year resident of Cherry Hill, Jim is very active in youth sports, with more than 15 years experience as a high school football official. Jim also volunteers as the treasurer of the South Jersey Football Officials, Ed Myer Chapter.

Councilwoman Susan Shin Angulo E-mail

Susan, her husband Michael, and their two daughters, Sophie and Chloe, live in the Charleston Riding section. The first Korean-American woman elected to office in New Jersey, Susan is a dedicated community volunteer and activist who has given her time to the Cherry Hill Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Human Relations Council, and the Food Bank of South Jersey, where she also serves as a board member. Susan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wilkes University and a Post Baccalaureate in Cytogenetics from Thomas Jefferson University. Professionally, Susan has extensive experience in pharmaceutical and biotech marketing, as well as real estate management.

Councilwoman Jacquelene Silver E-mail

Jacquelene is passionate about sustainability and shrinking the Township’s carbon footprint, and will serve as the Council’s liaison to both Sustainable Cherry Hill and the Historical Commission. A nine-year Cherry Hill resident, Jacquelene lives in the Township’s Versailles neighborhood and works as a middle-school special education teacher in Pennsauken. Jacquelene is an active volunteer in our community, serving on the Board of Trustees for her synagogue, Congregation Beth El, and as a member of the New Jersey State Education Association. Jacquelene has two daughters. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Boston University and a Master's degree in Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
